I had the honor of working on their 2024 Advent Calendar.
Objective
Design a puzzle for users to play while in the home base.

Since this year's calendar was based in Paris, they wanted a puzzle design to reflect that.
Gathering Reference
The longest part of the project, I spent days just studying pictures of Haussmann Architecture.

I was asked to illustrate a view of Paris that includes both the Eiffel Tower and the Seine. It did not have to be 100% accurate to the actual city, as long as it gave off the feeling of Paris.

The design ended up being used as a puzzle as well as a wallpaper for the home base.

There are many customizable features in the home base. When you click on the wall it cycles through different wallpapers, the partridges being one of them.

Takeaways
You can never have too much reference.

Even after studying reference photos for days, I found myself going back to look for more and more as I moved through this project. I found that the more reference images I had, the more accurate my illustration was.
