Context
Cases of tick borne illnesses such as Lyme Disease have skyrocketed over the past ten years.

Many people are unaware of the danger of ticks or how to protect themselves while spending time outdoors.
Objective
As someone who grew up in upstate NY where ticks are extremely common, I wanted to make others aware of what happens when one gets a hold on you.
Storyboard
Since the final animation was supposed to be 30 seconds, a well thought-out story was essential.
Style Frames
I went with a clean, vector style to make the story as clear as possible.
Experimenting with 3D
To get the exact look I wanted for the tunnel shot, I animated a camera on a spline going through a tunnel. Toon shaders were used to keep the
style consistent.

Animated splines were used as guides for hand drawn animation going through the tunnel. Everything was then composited in After Effects.
