Urbanism at RIT
Illustration · Graphic Design · Branding
Context
Urbanism at RIT provides a space for professionals and students to advocate, educate, promote, and implement ideas of walkable cities and public transit at RIT and the greater Rochester area.
Objective
Create an eye-catching brand identity to draw in
new members.
—
The branding should draw the attention of urbanists as well as those who don't know much about the topic. A lot of people don't know much about urbanism, so we wanted to draw people in with our visuals, and then get them
more involved.
Stylistic Direction
I wanted something bold with large, abstracted shapes and fluid, chaotic elements.
—
I looked to illustrator Ori Toor for inspiration.

Branding + Assets
After playing around with different elements, I decided to move on with the fluid motif.

Poster
A poster was designed to inform people of our first meetings of the semester. It was hung up on boards around campus.
Banner
A banner was designed for our table at the club fair. It drew in many people who didn't know anything about our club. We gained many new members because of it.

Business Cards
Business cards were designed for people to take with them after viewing our table. They included a link to our website where they could learn more about our club, as well as access our social media accounts.
Merch
Merchandise was created to help raise funds for the club. Members could purchase a club
t-shirt or a poster.
