Objective
Take a finished still illustration and bring it to life.

The goal of this project was to improve my animation skills and learn more about Adobe After Effects.
Exploration
Beacause this was originally illustrated for a book, I had to be considerate of the fold that would exist in the center of the page.

This created some limitations for my composition.
Planning
Before I went through with animating this piece, I had to make a plan.

Since this animation would be so short, I drew right on top of the illustration instead of a traditional storyboard.
Experimentation
I made it a point to explore new ways of animation.

I was actively researching different methods and techniques to bring this piece to life.
Final Output
This project was a really deep dive into After
Effects. I learned so many new things that I was able to apply to future projects.
Takeaways
I started this project with very little After Effects knowledge. Even though it was daunting at first, after many hours of experimentation I finally started to get the hang of it.
